6.9 IDI High Performance Build

Well guys here is some of the build info and pics. I'll keep adding pics and info until completed.

1983 F-250 4" lift on 35's

6.9L Bored .30 over

Cryoed and heat treated Rods

Arp head studs

Custom Bottom end girdle with ARP studs

Professionally Ported and Polished Heads

Mahle Pistons with .100 shaved off the top and Ceramic Coated

Compression lower to approx. 16.5:1

Injection pump maxed out by Ken at DPS. (says pump will deliver 4x stock pump)

Injectors maxed out to match Pump

Custom Built Log style Manifolds

Custom Mounted Holset HX-50 66mm inducer 19cm exhaust housing

Converted to Serpentine belt system

Twin Holly Black Fuel Pumps

Superduty Axles D50 front and Sterling 10.25 Rear

OBS Radiator

Superduty Intercooler

Not too sure. Its my friends truck and we are doing the build. Mostly fun DD occasional local puller. Just something to dick around in really.

I need to find that elbow you have for the compressor side. Looks sweet man. Think the single hx50 will move enough air? By my calculations the pro52 was a hair on the small side. Then again, i have no idea what im doing. Look forward to hearing how it runs. Is that a one-off intake or a highly modified stocker?

Stock cam? What psi are holley pumps? If you are running that much unregulated fuel (more than 9), I have heard it jacks with your timing. Did the head porting include matching/cc-ing? I see you have added an additional plate across the rear of the intake. Why? How much for one of those lower girdles?

Good to see another custom build.

I take it this is #2 of the 3 or so DB2/4 pumps out there?? And I see yours is putting out 200cc's instead of Justin's 150cc... I know Ken had some reservations about the pump shaft at that point, does this have the billet ground shaft?

How are you going to connect the passenger side manifold to the turbo?

If you could get more pics of the custom stuff, that would be awesome, Its always good to see what other ideas people come up with.

Whats the plan for head stud torque?

What is the intended boost level too? And you really need one of the two aftermarket regrind cams! It makes quite a bit of difference. One of the regrinds is more for high end power and the other is more for torque. That is an awesome build man. I am quite impressed!!

Do you also have any specs or info on the injectors or injection pump?

Ported stock manifold. We just capped the top and are running a 3" v-band assembly to a 90 elbow to the intercooler.

HX-50 will move more than enough air for this application. Max boost will only be 30 psi. While DD wastegate will be set around 22 psi

Stock Cam for now.

I think the Holly Black pumps flow 120 gpm @ 9psi each. So We will just have a lot of volume while maintaining 9 psi

Plate across the back was going to be used for a turbo mount until we decided to hang it off the side.

Not sure on the heads, They were sent out to be custom ported and polished, and thats what he got back, lol

Working on pricing on the girdles. I have a few guys interested.
