my 01 has 2 12 volt plugs and ther both are hot all the time. has anyone made thiers switched or on with the ignition? my truck sits a lot and the stuff plugged in drains the battery sometimes, actually only when its real inconvenient:doh:
That's all I do. I keep the plug in just enough that it doesn't fall out, but doesn't complete the circuit.
For my Sirius, I bought a female end and wired it to an engine-on circuit and hid it under the dash. Eventually I'll rewire it to a key-on-engine-off circuit.
Are your outlets factory, or did someone install them? I have been looking for something that would look factory for my 03. Where are the outlets mounted?
They are the factory ones. And yes I know unplugging would be best, I can't ever seem to remember that though.
