2006 f350 roughly 4 inches of front lift. I had bought a front swaybar drop bracket, but unfortunately it doesn't fit with my plow mount. Do they make extended swaybar end links for 4 inches of lift? I'm trying to find them.
You can cut them in half and get some tube to slide them into and weld them the length you need .I think its 3/4 " i.d. tube . Did mine years ago cost me $10 in tubing and an hours time.
How important are the bump stop spacers in the Icon kit? I figure i might as well get that? I had ordered the Skyjacker end links, but they are on back order til the 21st.
that wont work on the newer stuff.(although good idea for the older ones)
on the 99-04 the bar is mounted to the axle and the links connect to the frame. on the newer 05+ is the opposite, the bar mounts to the frame and the links connect to the axle
I received the skyjacker end links. Now i have to assemble them. Came without instructions. Do i use the collar? Here's a picture so you know what i'm talking about. I tried to get the red bushing into the top of the link with no nice. I think i'm going to need a press.
bushing goes in the eyelet.
than you out the metal sleeve through the middle of that.
metal collar black bushing round side down. sitting in the collar.
put the link on the truck and install the other black bushin with its collar
followed by the nut
put some grease on the red bushing, stand it up on a table, place the link over it and push down on the link, you may have to put some wieght into it or get a fat friend to help but they will go right in
I figured out how it goes together. I just can't get the top bushing in place. I tried grease and wacking it. I'm going to put it in a vise or press and try that.
Skyjacker ones ended up being to tall. Not sure what was up with that. I think i'm just going to modify my stockers. Add 1.5 inches to them. And found the source for my clunking in the front end... Icon Vehicle Dynamics Adjustable Trac bar that has been on the truck for only a few thousand miles. The rod end has a lot of in and out play.
