My '99 had leaking pinion seals for the first 10 years. It was changed several times by me and the dealer.
A couple years ago I put on an aluminum diff cover from an 08. I tapped it for a 3/8 NPT plug. I over filled it with oil.
No more leaks. Not a drop.
I'm not sure if the stock fluid level was too low and if you parked it on an incline the seal dried out and then it leaked or if it was overheating. Whatever the cause, it doesn't leak any more.
what kind of seleant did u put on the outside, and where is the vent block located
