Thanks for the info first of all!!:ford:
Ok... Did the voltage check on the ficm as was suggested. Was 48 with key on but not running. Was told should be minimum of 45 while truck was running. Well I got it started checked voltage and was only reading 17 volts. So failed ficm?
Oh yea. Pull it off and have swamps or vivian rebuild to 58V, and dont look back. I thought my FICM was going out, and I was secretly excited. Alwyas make a repair and upgrade; if your wife can afford it. LOL
$475+$350 (core charge)=$825 You get the $350 back after you send yours in...this is from Swamp's. I just a got a 58v FICM and can't wait to put it in!
Any of you have increased injector failures after the 58v? When international was designing the 6.0 they lab tested both 48v and 58v FICM and got noticable more injector failures. So I've always been scared if them.
The only way a higher voltage could increase injector failure would be if it caused more spool valve coils to brurn out. That failure rate on injectors is extremely low. Most injector failure if due to sticking spool valves. Since I started rebuilding my own spool valves I have have only seen 1 failed coil in about 80 spool valves I rebuilt.
