I have come to find that when my truck gets to temp. and is runnin down the road if i get into the throttle and let out the coolant cap whistles. Any suggestions on how to stop this?
Replace the Degas bottle cap with the revised one, and check it with updated level as well. See if that help if not you have other issues. Is the truck Stock ?
Whistling degas caps are often an indicator of blown head gaskets. Tee a pressure gauge into the degas bottle line and check you pressure. I bet you have over 16 lbs .....
if the gaskets are blown then someone didnt do somethin right. its fire ringed, studded and isnt built up that match. egr is deleted and im not runnin that much boost
the motor was just put back together and all the gaskets were fine. no leaks anywhere. if it starts doin it again ill have to start lookin into a plugged line or somethin i guess, if the new cap doesnt fix it that is
For someone who's asking advice, it seems to me you already know the answers, so why ask? If your continually blowing out of degas cap, you either have a plugged egr cooler or headgaskets or a bad cap. Cap can be purchased at dealer. There are no gaurantees to headgaskets, just because you've FR or installed headstuds, you can still blow them.
So how much pressure did you read in your degas bottle?
What is the temp difference between your EOT and ECT?
