Looks like I am in for a new exhaust or doing some fabricating on the dual outlet exhaust I have. Can't quite get the pinion angle I need for hitting the exhaust, and it is also hitting where the tips are. Just thought I would throw this out there for anyone who is lowering there truck and has MBRP dual outlets. Also throwing it out there, just in case someone may have an easy fix. I will try to put some pics on here tomorrow where it is making contact.
How does the pinion angle effect the exhaust? The exhaust is mounted to the frame... where are you touching? Your not doing a body drop only susp drop so I don't see why it won't work.
The DPF ends almost right over the rear end on a supercab. The exhaust duals out just out of the DPF. The "dual manifold" if you want to call it a manifold, is quite a bit larger that just a single pipe coming out of the DPF. When I lowered my truck I have to raise the pinion for a better angle, due to dropping the trans (rear end never moves, only trans) The rear end/pinion is making contact where it duals out. I will get some pics. Might be phone pics but I will put some on here in the next 15 mins or so.
GHate to see someone else had this problem but gad to see someone else has done this. Now I know it is possible to fab it and make it work. All else fails, it will not be to bad to single it out from behind the DPF, but I do like the look of the duals. Worse part is where it is rubbing the leaf springs, it is shoving the exhaust down.
First pic is where the exhaust crosses over the pinion.
2nd pic, you can see how it makes contact with the exhaust. I had to remove the hanger from exhaust to get the leaf spring in place. This side not so bad. I can put and extension on the hanger and call it a day. Just a little anlge toward the ground. I kinda like it though.
view of exhaust on same side. drivers side. Not to bad
Passenger side. I am going to try to heat it and bend just a little, try to get it over some, from under the botom leaf, like it is on the drivers side. To much of a drop on this side.
Pic shows how much it is dropping because it is under the bottom leaf.
Not sure just now, exactly how I am going to attack the exhaust where it crosses over the top of the pinion.
