It took longer then I thought it would, but then again I changed a few more things along the way...
Thanks to Matt Moroni (motoxracer42), and Shawn Ellerton (Redneck6.0L) for sharing some of their knowledge with me along the way...posting pictures of their setups helped with the way I did mine. (Not exactly the same, but simular.)
Also like to thank Eric with Innovative Diesel for his tuning. (It's working great so far Eric!!!)
No video's yet, but here are some pictures of some of the work:
....and a few more: The last one one here shows the first .80 A/R housing with the BD Power diverter valve mounted to the BD Power pedistal. Unbelieveable quality, but a complete PITA to install. (Had to install turbo in three different steps. (Exhaust housing first, then center section with drain tube, then the compressor housing last.....LOTS OF FUN trying to tighten up compressor housing bolts with the diverter valve in there...lol.
Too hard to hold the camera steady and drive at the same time. And I need to adjust the Quick Spool valve and Diverter valve opening pressures yet. (Litterly JUST got it running on the street last night.)
Ok..to answer a lot of questions that are been asked in PMs...
Turbos are a 66mm over an S480. 66 was bought from Shawn Ellerton, who was selling it for Ben Gallon. S480 was bought from another member on Competition Diesel.
All piping came from Columbia River Mandrel Tubing. I bought it all as separate pieces with the bends already made...I just had to cut them to length, tac them together, and had my brother in law TIG them for me.
All ceramic coating was done by Top Gun Coatings in Calgary, Alberta.
Can't play now cuz I'm back at work again... But at least I got to run it for a couple hours before I had to go to work again...
I'll prolly bring it up to Edmonton in August if I get everything tuned up on the Quick Spool valve, Diverter Valve, and wastegate.
So far, I saw over 100 psi drive pressure, and over 80 psi final boost....so I have some fine tuning to do yet.
The smoothness is incredible...only thing I can compare it to is the way my old Mach Z would pull your arms straight on hard packed snow at WOT from a standing start...I like it alot.
Can't wait to get Eric to send a Race tune for it.:evil
Looks good Ivan. Should run good for you for sure!
