Installed my chip a few days ago and real happy with the way the truck runs, completely different. Was gettin on it pretty hard tonight comin home and the cel popped on, but went off after a mile or so. Anyone know whats up with that? Thanks
It uses a regulator that won't allow the map sensor to see the actual boost numbers... This allows the truck to keep fueling beyond the 22psi that it throws the code at...
Damn so a whole bunch of different stuff haha maybe I'll ask dp and see if they can change anythin with the tuning. Once, again, absolutely amazed with the power. I know now why all u guys talk about banks a certain way ha!
By ask I mean can they tun boost out...if it is your hpop which it will be eventually, that is where the adrenaline, t500,1000, srp etc comes in.
On my truck I have to hold wot for longer then 12 sec or so to get a flash, it never hard sets though, and usually if I see it I am on the brakes anyway. Too fast not enough road etc.
So basically enjoy your chip till you get the itch for more mods.
its an over boost cel. mine does the same thing. keep in mind if you change it and run your boost to high you could lift a head. I leave mine as is and keep it under 25psi boost so i dont lift a head.
Yeah I had thought about that too, I see were running almost identical tunes from them i just dont have the 100 or super 80e. Everyone always talks about heads studs and I dont have the cash for that but defff dont wana be blowin head gaskets. By the way, how is the ats housing? I need something now with the tunes
lots of people run boost pressures of 40+ on stock head bolts. on stock injectors and turbo i don't see a head liftin as a major problem. thats why we have 7.3's and not 6.0's
I had turbo surge BAD! put the ats housing on and it got rid of it. Alot of people say they are not worh it. Just put a WW in. But I am very happy with it.
I've been running Matt's tuning now for 55,000 miles, no CEL lights at all. On the boost gauge I see 32 psi, and when we tuned it, we did some datalogging and my icp THEN would fall to 1700 in the hotter settings. I can only imagine what it is now. But even then, I can hold it flat footed from a dead stop til 110 mph (per gps) and ZERO CEL lights.
I figured I'd add this, I did the ITP porter housing about 30,000 miles ago, and it seemed to pull harder further through the rpm range, or more smoothly rather. Eliminated every bit of the surge, and I have grossed 28,000 lbs coming out of Los Angeles CA back to Texas across I-10, and some of it's monster pulls and all the surge is gone. I used to surge pulling my 24' enclosed car trailer empty, getting on the highway, and I could get it to surge with no trailer as well. Best $3xx-ish bucks I've spent so far!
Yeah thatll be one of the next things i do for my truck, and a trans pan. Seems like all of them are similiar just different chunks of aluminum
