Would a dodge dana 60 work in a obs Ford? I know it is a coil spring but if you got the spring mounts for a 2wd f250 could you put the factory 2wd springs in there. Then to hold axle front to back use either the dodge setup or fab your own. Just an idea I had, I need someone to shoot it down so I can get it out of my head.
The coil spring might have a better ride I was thinking. I have found the dodge axles for around $550 and the Ford axles were around $1,300. Basically I thought i thought it might be a easier or cheaper way to have a coil spring front suspension.
I have been looking at this possiblity myself. Mainly due to the price of the axle. I need to research more, but I know you can get a CAD delete kit for under $300 and I've heard of using super duty hubs. I might go with leaf springs purely to get the axle under and the truck drivable faster, but I was considering an f150 coil set up (it's the same mounts as the 2x f250 &f350). Then, my ttb can go away and I have a much less expensive Dana 60 front swap. Coils can be added later-or, could get the dodge mount and run the coil-overs they use. Lots of options without ttb...
Welcome to PSN! You dug up a 12 year old thread . May I suggest that you start a new project thread on your axle swap. I'd actually be interested in seeing what you come up with if you do the coil spring setup.
