The way I figure fuel efficiency is by how many miles I get per tank full. When I re-fuel, I re-set my trip odometer. If I know I can go 500 miles on a tank and when I check my odometer, it show me 100 miles and I'm down to a 1/2 tank, then I know there's a problem somewhere. And my driving habits are the same.
I was looking how far one could go on a tank full. Not some I get xx MPG.
I guess it's real hard to post how many miles one gets out of tank full then we can guessimate the real MPGs one gets.
Example: If one get 15 MPG daily driving, so that would mean with a 38 gal tank, the range would 570 miles. But all know that we can't get all 38 gals out so I'll guessimate around 500 miles.
I have a 2011 F350 CCSB with the powerstroke. I filled up the other day, 26 gallon tank with my miles until empty reading 5 and it took 21 gallons. Does anyone know where Ford is getting a 26 gallon tank from? There is no way that the fuel lines, etc. hold 5 gallons of fuel
I think that is weird. Usually it is the opposite. Even after VW changed the entire fuel system our MPG dropped but went back up after a few k..... I have heard many say that theirs usually climbs as well. That is a large drop to say the least!
Stoneworks...
Those Miles till empty gauges are fixed so that people get scared and fill up before they actually run out of fuel. Same with fuel gauges, for instance on my front tank i can go 90 miles before my tank runs completely dry.
