I know we dont like feeler ads so this in not one. But im in the market to sell this beast and need some honest opinions on what its worth!! I know what it would cost to rebuild it but that is not the question!! Do you guys think im out of line to think with a sweet single set up its worth at least 25k? am I all wet or what? I could also sell it stock and sell the motor and tranny separately. I think with the way things are going im just going to go to school full time so it would be nice to free up some spare cash. Thanks for the help guys
Even if the truck is one of the finest 7.3's out there the premium you are suggesting would probably attract a couple interested parties a couple of years ago that are knowledgeable of the value of the setup. But, in my opinion in today's market you are going to have a hard time finding someone willing to give up that much for a 10+ year old truck. There are a lots of used trucks out there that can be bought for a decent price. Unfortunately you don't get that great of a return on aftermarket mods on a 10+ year truck, but there are a few exceptions out there. Your best bet would be to return the truck to stock(lot bigger market to sell used) and then sell off the mods to people interested in that kind of stuff which are usually easy to find on sites like this. Good luck. Hopefully you will find someone interested in your setup who sees its worth and be willing to pay you what your asking. Instead of them pumping the same or more money into a stock truck.
With diesel where it is price wise people are not getting blue book on 2-3 yr old trucks. 25k for a 12+ yr old truck is not going to happen. Selling the mods will yield the most return but look at what used performance part are selling for right now. 25% of retail seems about the average.
The only thing I ever seen the motor do is break on this thing.
Is it runnin'? If so, how long? Just trying to gauge if this motor is reliable.
I would sell it with a stock motor and tranny...get 13k for it and then try to flip the high performance stuff later. You can get 3k for the tranny. Motor..who knows.
I ended up parting my little truck out to get the money out of it. No one was going to give 25k for a ten year old truck with a 240,000 mile odometer, even though everything was basically brand new. Sold the truck as a roller with the trans, sold the motor complete, then just sold off the last pieces. Ended up getting the money i needed out of everything, just had to go through the trouble of taking it all apart.
He's right. When Randy bought it from me ...Swamps put firerings in it. They will definately back this motor. I bet the motor still doesn't have 3500 miles on it in what a yr and a half?
I don't think your out of line at all at 25k on that truck Randy, Pick up an Auto and RV for Ohio. You can't find a clean 7.3 crew cab of any year with under 200k miles for less than 18k, most are right around the 20k mark for stock trucks.
THis is for a stock truck...the market on 7.3's is rabid. I bowed out of a bidding war on a 2001 f350 cc/lb diesel this morning already as the price was over 22k. Ill try to find a link to it.
Selling my perfectly dialed in and 100% reliable 600hp truck for about $25K. Heck, mine only has 108K original miles on it. When you add it all up, I kid you not I have $40K in parts on it before installation of them and the cost of the truck itself. Mine actually has 15K miles on the good motor which is huge to me personally as they often take so much to get all straightened out. Mine is stock truck reliable at this point.
Just not certain who would be willing to part w/ that much cash for a 12 year old truck. I still love that truck but I just don't use it enough to justify the costs associated w/ a big truck like that. I tell you that I wouldn't be interested in buying a newer truck as a replacement for it. I'm just seriously considering using a small trailer behind my sports car for lumber and dirt bikes as that's all I haul anyways.
Just to give you an idea on what some places out this way are still getting, and these are stock. Now there are cheaper ones, but this dealership is still selling these things...
nice truck but if i had 25k to spend i would want a newer one..i think thats whats going to draw the line for ALOT of folks....if deff will not be a quick sale..Fuel prices are really going to kill anyone wantin one as well... Id say sell some parts to get some of the money back and then sell it...
