Re: Brake and ABS lights come on after A/C's been on awhile.

Cratos, you wouldn't happen to have pictures of the locations would you? I am learning the ins and outs of these trucks and I have no knowledge of the vacuum system.

Re: Brake and ABS lights come on after A/C's been on awhile.

So no connection between the A/C and the vacuum pump? this only happens when I turn the A/C on. And again, it's sporadic. I drove a good 20 miles this past weekend with the A/C on (heaven) and no ABS...

Re: Brake and ABS lights come on after A/C's been on awhile.

Hmm, I don't have a scanner and my brakes feel about the same as usual. Of course when the lights come on, I don't know if I am imagining that my brakes feel different or if they do. The lights come...

Brake and ABS lights come on after A/C's been on awhile.

First a caveat: I am not a mechanic and this is my first diesel no less first powerstroke. It's a 96 F250 crew w/250K on it. I have no idea what the history of the truck was but I have had to replace...

How to wire clearance lights with single wire and factory harnesses?

The original owner of my truck installed clearance lights that have one wire coming from each light rather than the two (black and brown) that were standard.

I have a factory wiring harness that...

Re: How to remove OLD pinstripe?

So here's how I finally got the stripes off. Plastic putty knife to scrape the stripe off and Goo gone and elbow grease to remove the remaining adhesive. I just put some Goo Gone on some shop paper...

Re: Is my starter bad?

Going back through my old posts to make sure I followed up. I did replace my starter and all worked again. In fact, it was a blast to hear how fast that beast started up. I actually felt like a...

Re: Is my starter bad?

That guy is funny. I watched the whole video to learn how to replace the starter and didn't expect the ending where he got upset ... but I am glad that happened because that is the exact sound I get....

Is my starter bad?

So I drove my truck around yesterday for about 20 miles, stopped to get the mail and when I got back in to start it, it wouldn't start. It would turn over once and then there would be a horrendous...

Re: How to remove OLD pinstripe?

Great! Then I will get one this weekend and try it. In all honestly, the truck is old enough if I burn the paint on my test spot I won't cry about it.

Re: How to remove OLD pinstripe?

I'm glad you mentioned that eraser wheel. I found some videos showing the use of that 3M Stripe Off wheel and was wondering if it would work for my case. I'll try it. Thanks.

I have a 96 F250 with the 3 stripe pinstripe going down both sides. I think it's the original stripe but it needs to go. It is missing in lots of places. The problem is the parts that are missing...

New From Texas

Just got my first diesel and first 4x4 two weeks ago. It's a 96 F250 CC SB 4x4 7.3L 5spd and has 216K on it. I think it has the 4:13 (?) gear ratio because starting from 1st is a terrible idead :)...

Console vault for '96 F250?

Does anyone know of a manufacturer of a console vault type safe for 96 f250's? I see them for newer models just not the older ones.
