mpg - class a motorhome v-10 vs 6.0

Can someonen tell me what kind of mpg difference there would be? I have a friend who is thinking of purchasing a motorhome and was told that they get the same mpg or within a mile or two. He gets 7-9 with the v-10.

2002 f-350 PSD, 4x4, cc short bed, 6spd, ccv mod, airdog, AIS filter, isspro ev and scangauges, detroit TT, ITP boost annihalator, ITP RR, bellowed up-pipes, ats housing, turbomaster, 3.5 dp magnaflow, very happy with ultra smooth and linear PHP 50t, 80DD and "whisper" tunes.

Re: mpg - class a motorhome v-10 vs 6.0

I don't know about the 6.0

But I have a Class A with a v-10 and only get about 8-10 mpg at best in it.

My 7.3L with my 37' 14,000 lb 5th wheel I get about 10 mpg consistantly.

Being that the 7.3L is more fuel efficent then the 6.0, I'd say the v-10 and 6.0 would be close.

Depending on what you want to do, I'd probably go with the v-10.

Plus if you have the 6.0 then you would need to get the diesel generator, or you have to carry another tank of fuel for your genny. Which is a pain in the ass.

It also depends on what year the Class C V-10 is. After 2004, most all V-10 trannys were the new Torqueshift which is a MUCH better tranny for the big rigs. With their gearing and the TS tranny, I'd say 9-10 mpg is about right. I wouldn't touch a 6 leaker with a 10 foot pole especially in a RV.

I WOULD ive ridden in class A full of banks aftermarket on it. I dont get why they dont stuff PSD's in these? ive never seen any at least. Not hating on the V10 because for the massive size the motorhome is it dosent do too terible but i couldnt bring myself to do it.
