Fords New Six-Speed 6R140

I was reading some info last night @ work... About this transmission...Sounds like Ford is heading in the right direction with this Unit... Now I read one section that really had me squinting to make sure I read it correctly...

Here It is and I quote---->"The High-Capacity Transmission filter extends automatic transmission fluid change intervals to 150,000 miles"

Is this Correct? What type of Trans Fluid can withstand that amount of miles? Just a simple H/C filter can't be the only answer....Granted I have know idea how big Fords trans cooler is on these new trucks... But it must be a very efficient one...

well most newer transmissions are life time fill from the factory...technically a good syn fluid should not deteriorate at all, as long as its filtered properly and not overheated.

CCLB with some stuff done .....

This is true. The technology has been there for a while with both fluids and filters, however no one wanted longer intervals as that cuts into the profit of selling the fluids and filters more frequently.
