Don't know the specs on the trans but here is a little info.
1995 f350 5 speed manual.
I had a clutch put in it a little over a year ago, I am now getting a rattle from the transmission area when you push the clutch in at say a stop light or when you are parking it. I'm sure it does it at higher speeds but I just can't hear it I'm sure.
Question is what could the rattle be ? It's just a light sound almost like s spring or something nothing heavy or large.. no issues with running or shifting
Upgraded to the single mass hd clutch and new fly wheel and fork .
I'm going to pull the inspection cover in the morning and se if i can see anything loose.
Any pointers as to what to look for I'm not a tranny guy.
Wife drove it today and said there was a thump when shifting from 2nd to 3rd ???don't know rats a new one and I haven't been out in it so not sure on that one.
Sound like the tranny is getting ready to crap out on me????
Ok I took of the inspection plate for the clutch and all looked good.
Drove it to and back from town today about 10 mile round trip.
I most certainly has a thump when shifting from 1st to 2 nd if you let off the clutch but if you ease off of it it is not noticeable or not existent.
Going to drain it and take off the side plates and see if I can see something.
DRAINED the tranny fluid looked good, took off the side inspection covers and everything looked good all gears that I could see all still looked new ran a magnet through the drained fluid with no residue as well on the inside of the tranny nothing there.
Refilled it up after cleaning everything up real good with 4 quarts of motorcraft mercon.
Drove it around the block "7.1 miles " it still has the the rattle and a very distinct thump when shifting from 1/2 gear. Although the sincros are working nicely as I could very smoothly shift through all gears up and down without the clutch.
I'm lost. Guess ill drop it out and check the bearings.
