How much "blow-by" is normal

OK, got ccv mod with hose running down frame rail exiting just ahead of rear wheels...
I am noticing vapor & fumes more and more coming off extended runs of 3-10 hrs

cracking oil fill cap shows vapor trail coming out of crankcase but no "huffing"

I am just wondering at what point I should get concerned and have this checked more....I do not think its "dusted" but I want to keep a close check on this ..

Wondering what general signs of ring wear ,or dusting of engine are?

Did you have the mod on your 98? How did it compare, if you did? I haven't done mine.(yet)

I have to look up the spec. Dont have it here.
I only remove the CCV if it has an intercooler.
I just burn the oil in the combustion chamber.
May not be much but its in the intake draft (stock). If you look at some
race motors you will see the use of a vac pump to run the CC in a vac.
It promotes ring seal.

For now check for low spots in the line that can pool the oil.
The oil pool can act as a valve. It will have to build more pressure to pass the pool of oil.
The line has to be pitched like a sewer drain.

A good bit is the best answer I know. Enough to oil the intake pre-turbo on many.
You could find a place to route the CCV into the exhaust and burn the vapors and drips. A little fabricating and plumbing needed. Someone makes a fitting--Moroso maybe...

Spec is 6in H2O or less is good.
This is hot motor, plugged CCV, WOT for 30 seconds.
Gauged from the oil fill.

The old swamp donkey way was to lay the oil fill cap on the hole unscrewed.
If it blows the cap off the pressure is to high. His test is dam close! Problem is on the van the oil fill is not flat on the VC.

Maybe I am trying to borrow trouble,
Its not pouring out steam like a teakettle
but the 98 van had less "blow-by" than this 02 does, and the 98 had a ton of hard miles on it to boot...

To do that test the swamp donkey way do you have to plug the CCV and Hold it at WOT for 30 sec?

I would change the oil and send out a sample.
Maybe something simple like fuel diluted.
What brand oil are you using?

Oil is 5w40 Rotella Synthetic
