Ether bottle kit?

Ok I sold my awesome cold weather starting Cummins truck and got back into a 7.3. I forgot how hard starting they are when the temp drops to freezing. I know they make a 7.3 ether bottle kit that is metered for the size of the engine. Alot of fleets use them but has anyone here had any luck with it? Is there a write up im not finding?

Plug it in or change your glow plugs.

Re: Ether bottle kit?

yea my truck would start just fine in cold weather last year ( sold the truck though)

I did not plug it in ONCE all winter... some days it was down past -20.

Running a synthetic oil 5-40 really helps the cold start and the romps...

This is with synthetic..

Re: Ether bottle kit?

ether + glowplugs = bad idea
if the glowplug system is working properly a 7.3 will start great in low temps.
