fan clutch removal

Has anyone tried to change their water pump out and found that there fan clutch to pulley bolts are to close to get a wrench in between there? I removed the serpentine belt but cannot get a wrench on the fan nut without interference to the pulley bolts. ALmost like the pulley bolts have to come out first.

Any ideas?

Re: fan clutch removal

I fabbed up this wrench and hit it with big hammer while someone holds tension on the serpentine belt. The fan clutch nut has to be taken off and then I raise the shroud and fan at same time after inserting cardboard against radiator
