97 F350 Hood Latch Striker Fell Off

At some point the striker that is attached to the hood has disappeared. I do not recall what it looked like or ever looking at it and I cannot find one on line nor can the Ford dealer find a picture of it or have any replacement part to offer. I am currently trolling junk yards for one without any luck so far. Can any one who owns one send me a picture of what it is supposed to look like? I might be able to fabricate something up or maybe you even have one for sale?
Not to many 97's left in Michigan having all rusted to scrap metal. This one only has 106,000 miles on it and runs fine would like to baby it through another 200,000.

Don't want to go with the bungee cord look for this truck. It appears to have been held on by one bolt since there is only one bolt hole. My 99 F250 has two bolt holes and those strikes are readily available.

Thanks for any help.

I'm pretty sure any hood latch from the 80-97 will work. Also f150 on up. Possibly even rangers.

Re: 97 F350 Hood Latch Striker Fell Off

Thanks for the info with an expanded range of years to look at. I just got back from the salvage yard and found out that the older ones don't have a strike rod like the 98 and newer models. There is just a reinforced square hole in the hood that the latch catches on. Felt like a fool. One minor adjustment to the latch and now it works just fine.
I was looking for a non-existent part.

Should have posted this 4 days ago would have saved me a lot of time and energy.

Thanks again to you and to all the fine people who help each other out on this site.

Older but wiser Frank.
