Been doing some research on my next 7.3 upgrades for this truck
Looking at injectors, Superduty intercooler/turbo setup tuners and gauges. Plan to get all my ducks in a row. I will likely take this approach, if I am missing anything please fill me in! I am still new to all of this, but I have some $$$ ($3K) or so to spend its time to start collecting parts
My 7.3 has 202K miles, lots of white smoke at cold start (clears and runs very well, no loss of fluids now, everything working well aside from 1 stuck glow plug, dorman UVCH and old injectors)
and tune from reputable dealer, been looking at DP
Possibly toss in gauges/tuner
truck already has 3" downpipe & recent 3" exhaust with cat
(I have to do Colorado emissions yuck, yearly sniffer test and visual check of cat
I plan to get exhaust manifolds, intercooler piping, 6.0 intercooler, riff raff boots, and used turbo from superduty 7.3
Purchase bellowed up pipes, deleted SD
turbo rebuild kit with billet wheel and whatever else needed to update my 7.3 to bellowed pipes, better (larger) SD
turbo and + intercooler. I will also need motorcraft UVCH as I dislike my dorman setup very much. I have no problem going to the single plug in SD
type harness, wiring in house.
I will have new injectors and tunes in hand at time of install
I know I need some sort of fuel upgrades, I am only going with stage 1 (160, possibly 180 single shot) injectors, goal is 350-380 hp what I really want is TORQUE
I would love to do fuel bowl delete, e fuel? however if budget allows, I can always upgrade this later and my stuff seems to be working well.
I live at 9000 and drive this 97 mostly around 5500-9,500# daily
Thoughts? Missing anything?
