7.3 Runs fine then die, then hard start

Sometimes when I got start up my 7.3 it starts right up idles fine and good, other times it starts up fine runs for about a min. then dies. Then it takes alot of cranking to get it to restart and about after 4 or 5 stalls it then idles and runs normal. Threw the cel a few times. Smokes alot on the restart. Any thoughts possible ipr?

Pull the code first, then report back what you found.
