Transfer Case

Ok guys, sorry but I need to get some solid answers before I can move on in my little bit of research. I tried searching, cant seem to lock down the info I need. What transfer case specifically is in the OBS trucks, 1996 in particular, both automatic and manual. And if someone is extremely knowledgeable, what transfer case in the the 7.3 super duties, both automatic and manual zf6's. Thanks in advance guys
Regards
Krause

Re: Transfer Case

The 99 and newer has either an NP 271 or 273 depending on whether its manual or electric engagement. The bolt pattern and other dims are the same between those two transfer cases. I'm unsure of the obs trucks.

Re: Transfer Case

OK sorry guys, so heres the question now. The NP 271/273 was used with the 4R100, which is almost the same trans as the e4od. So does the BW 4407 bolt up to the 4R100, and the vice versa with the NP 271 bolting up to the E4OD? And was there separate versions of the NP 271 used for zf6 and 4r100, or are they virtually the same t-case for both manual and auto?
If you see what im getting at here, really im wondering if I found a zf6 with no t-case (or a electronic shift t-case), could I merry my manual shift BW 4407 to the zf6?
Thanks guys!
