7.3 powerstroke injectors

What is the difference in single shot, split shot and hybrid injectors and what is the best for a daily driver?

Re: 7.3 powerstroke injectors

The least expensive option would be a set of stock injs for a daily driver...since no custom chip would be necessary; as is the case with singles or hybrids.

however, if you are looking to bump up the power...and a small bump in power & fuel economy is the goal...then a set of small singles would be recommended.

If you were looking to make some decent power ~400rwhp...and didn't want to incur the extra expense with twin high pressure oil pumps, then a small set of hybrids would be ideal...IF you were planning on a modest turbo upgrade in the near future.

with HEUI injectors "oil" is king....

so choosing an injector that isn't "oil hungry" (like split shots) should be your main objective, IMO

for the same volume of fuel leaving the nozzle...split shots use the most volume of oil...single shot (non hybrids) use the next least amount of HPOil...and hybrids would use 40% less HPOil than the single shot (non hybrids)...

Re: 7.3 powerstroke injectors

Okay what would be the best for a daily driver but wanting to make close to 500 hp? And is it possible to make that kind of power and still be reliable and streetable?

oh...now I understand.

We have a Competition Package that includes hybrids, H2e turbo, headstuds, chip w/ custom tunes, etc...that would be jussst about perfect for a truck that will remain a street truck for awhile...and then might get goofy in a year or two.

If you would like a quote, shoot an email to:

dave@swampsdiesel.com

and I'll reply with an estimate.

take care~

Dave

How's that Walbro holding up? I'm fighting a fuel pressure issue right now and it may be the pump...
