I was just wondering if I could turn my 7.3 up like the old 12 valve cummins?

Yes you can. But since your 7.3 is computer controlled, you have to "turn it up" through the engine's computer or PCM ("Powertrain Control Module").

That's where a "chip" comes in. The chip modifies the fueling to the injectors...and "turns it up"!

Click HERE! for a look at DP-Tuner's stuff.

Good luck

Nope... First you will need a chip to control the PCM. 12v's are mechaincal that allows you to turn them up. With a PSD, you need a chip first.

There are other ways too like 10 K , 22 k mod , up the IDM voltage to 140 etc.
Chip is the best way but costs more. Make sure you get a pyrometer first or be dad gum careful with your foot!

Re: can you turn a 7.3 up without new injectors?

well to be honest I dont really care for it that much because the turbo lag seemed to get worse if you if you let the rpms get around 1600 and it made my truck shift really hard no matter how I drove and its a 6 speed!
