Need help with 2002 f-250

On my 2002 f-250 I have a bad humming noise at 65+. However when I hit a bump it give a quick and short buuuurrtt almost like an a-10 cannon. It's only about half a second long. I yanked as hard as I could on the rear driveshaft and no play at all. I played with the front drive and some play. I put it in 4 wheel drive and I have about a half inch of play by twisting the driveshaft. I don't think it's u joints cause the entire shaft is rotating that half inch all the way into the transfer case. Above 50 I do hear slap if I let off the gas really quick? Could I have a transfer case issue?

Best way to check those is jacking it up and checking for play in the wheel right? And the front wheel bearing are enclosed in the locking hubs correct?
