Do I even need a EGT gauge?

I am fixing up my truck on a budget and adding a A-pillar gauge is expensive. I monitor everything else via Torque that works well but I can not see exhaust gas temps. My truck is stock except for a "wicked wheel". I daily drive the truck and tow a 4,100 to 4,500lb boat 50 miles a few times a month and maybe once a year I will tow it 1,000 miles.

I let the truck cool down when towing and never go over 65mph and even with 3:73 gears it does not seem to mind the boat too much. Thanks for the advice.
