Compression Test 7.3

How would I go about to do one??



-Disconnect valve cover gaskets
-pull glow plugs
thread in compression tester
crank engine by starter???
Record # (what numbers should I be looking for)
orrr??....

1996 crew cab long box. 3.73s, auto 493/1135 stockish auto trans.

Pull ALL the glow plugs and the PCM fuse.

Thread in the tester, crank the engine with the starter, count 4-5 puffs. The first puff and the last puff are most important.

throw a batt charger on while your doing it.

Swamps, ITP diesel, DP tuner, BTS, Stecher Performance Diesel, DieselSite

It is a good idea, but with the glow plugs removed they wont be fighting compression.

you can also just pull the idm relay so it wont fire as well. Thats the "by the book" method

2000 f-250, dp f-5, ddp 120hp single shots, mbrp turbo back, itp boost fooler, itp pre-pump kit, banks billet torque converter, coolingmist cmgs

Ill do that, I dont know where the PCM fuse is anyway.
