AIH relay

I want to ditch mine. No good reason really other than neatening up the engine bay. My AIH is gone, so this thing is useless. I'm pretty sure I can just pull it out, but what about the wires? I don't want them just hanging around in there. Obviously the power out wire is alreay gone, but what about the signal from the PCM? Can I cut it of and cap it? What have you all done with your wires?

Re: AIH relay

Heat shrink, don't cut it off. Just heat shrink and tie it up. That way if you ever need to go back for some unforeseen reason, the wires are still there.

Re: AIH relay

Doesn't elimination of the AIH end up throwing a soft code without the resistor mod?

Without the relay, there is no way to do the resistor trick.

Re: AIH relay

Yeah mine already throws the soft code, but no SES light. I don't plan on doing the resistor mod cause it doesn't bother me.

Re: AIH relay

It's just putting about 1k resistance from the AIH relay to ground to make the PCM think that the AIH is still there.
