what do i need to bulletproof a 06 6.0

i got a lead on a automatic 2006 6.0 f350 xlt 4x4 flatbed with 40,000 miles on it for $20000. i know its a good price but i was wondering how good it is. i wanted to know what i would need to do to bulletproof it, ive heard about putting on egr delete kits and doing the head studs but id like to get more info on it. any recommendations on brands and other good mods are appreciated. ps im new to here and diesels so bear with me haha.

Bulletproof? 6.0? Good one

But no really its a long expensive road. I'll just go ahead and list everything off:

Studs installed correctly(this is important)
EGR Delete
Oil cooler rebuild
Fuel system(lines, pump,etc)
Oil filter bypass
Coolant filter
Updated HPOP fitting with updated rail stand pipes/plugs
Tunes that aren't stock
Exhaust
Gauges

There are a few things you won't be able to stop on a used truck such as injectors sticking/failing or a FICM taking a dump. Thats about it motor wise. A built tranny is always nice too.

It really depends on what you are going to use your truck for.. Are you thinking of chipping it? If your going to use the truck for it's intended purpose and your not going to chip it, then you can leave it stock and we can talk about how to maintain the truck so that it will last a long time..

I would certainly think gauges should be on any diesel truck...

Fuel Pressure
EOT
ECT

And so on

Re: what do i need to bulletproof a 06 6.0

ya id like to add a tuner to squeeze out more mpg and it would be used to mainly plow and occasionally tow my bobcat. ive heard the first thing to do is egr delete and put a set of head studs on em.
