Monitor/tuner time. Site sponsor prefered

I am going to be in the market for a monitor/tuner and I'm looking to see who you all recommend me ordering through. I currently am using torque pro but want to get something I can watch ego's with.

I would prefer working with a good sponsor here on the site. Thank you and God bless.

if you are thinking on running custom tuning, that might narrow down the search (not that I know who's is good or bad lol)
either way, i'd like to hear more on this!

I am planning on custom tunes just not sure from who yet. On my 97 f350 I had tunes from power hungry which wrere great but that was a 7.3 and I'm not to sure who writes the best tunes for the 6.0. From what I understand the canned tunes on the sct platform work well for the 6.0 so if that is the case I may just go that route.

something else to think about, I think that the newer SCT tuners no longer logically turn off the EGR functions. That's what some of my own research has produced. if that's part of what you're looking for, then custom tunes might be what the doctor ordered.

edit: several guys on here really like this guys custom tunes: PowerStrokeNation : Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum - View Profile: 06-6.0 stoker
not sure if he still checks this forum though.

Just put a pyro on the truck and call it a day.

I think Edge CTS offers a pyro hookup, but that monitor is $500, and if I'm not mistaken the pyro adapter isn't included. You could do the SCT X4 for your tuner....it allows you to monitor vitals, but I don't think it has a provision to monitor egts.

If it were me, I'd use torque pro like you have been and put a pyro gauge on it. You can find places to mount that single gauge if you don't want it on the pillar like most do.

SCT X4's do have a pyro provision, but it needs to be bought separately. I have one.

Thanks for the input. I think I will go the route of the x4 with egt probe and canned tunes for now then down the road maybe some custom tunes.

I don't know if you have bought the x4 yet but edge just released their CTS2 Pro which has all the amazing features of the CTS2 but allows you to run custom tuning. This will save you from having to buy both a CTS2 and a x4
