early 6.0 oil manifold rail updates

does anybody know why Ford went from the tube style oil manifold to the larger square body manifold for the injectors?

Better HPO pressure stability due to higher volume and noise reduction.

With the new 'wavey' rails if you look at the ICP with a scope the voltage is way smoother than the old rails. This would also give the IPR a better signal to work with and less ICP failures.

Re: early 6.0 oil manifold rail updates

I don't honestly know. I like the location of the ICP on the later models but I also like that the early models don't have HPOP system leaks. The smoother ICP reading would also help the ICP live longer. There is a lot that needs to be changed if one was to do so. I have a 03 in my truck and have a late 04 engine that has all that is needed, but I haven't swapped it out.

The newer pumps move more oil,icp sensors last longer and are easier to change.the newer rails are said to flow more oil and dampen hydraulic pulses too.the swap involves quite a bit though.i would say all in all its worth it on a performance build or daily driver if you have access to the parts.
