Cheap EGR delete method?

I am doing some research for my old man and he wants me to find a way to bypass/delete/solve the EGR problem in the 6.ohs. Looking for the cheapest kit to delete it. I have herd of people unplugging them and having no problems? I am not too familiar with the 6.0s so that is why i am asking. Any advice would be nice thanks!!! (i'm not the one that made the mistake in buying a 6.0)

Not the best choice of words to use in a 6.0 forum. Anyways, Egr Delete Kit Economy Custom Diesel is the least expensive kit that I have found.

Re: Cheap EGR delete method?

I worked on a truck that had a pipe threaded into the oil cooler and taped int the coolant line to the heater core. They cut a piece of rear egr cooler off and made a custom exhaust cap. I'm not real sure what they did to the front cover water port to the intake. That's the most redneck one iv seen

Re: Cheap EGR delete method?

Pull your EGR cooler and plug both ends. Leave EGR valve installed and plugged in. Some vehicles will require an SCT to turn off an engine light. We all know this is for off road use only. This will pass any visual inspection, not give you a problem if your EGR cooler cracks, and will keep your intake and heads clean!!

Re: Cheap EGR delete method?

Re: Cheap EGR delete method?

I unpluged mine and welded a plug on the up-pipe side tube that feeds the egr cooler. I have no issues form the codes.

Re: Cheap EGR delete method?

smokersteve has a easir way than mine except if his EGR cooler were to leak it eventually will make it thru the EGR valve. With my way if the EGR cooler has an internal leak the plugs will hold it!

Re: Cheap EGR delete method?

Weld it up. Its stainless but other than that not a big deal. Cost a few bucks for welding supplies or probably less that $100 bucks to have it done. Looks stock and should pass a visual inspection.

Re: Cheap EGR delete method?

so let me get this straight..if you unplug it, it doesn't do any harm but it will throw a code so you have to block off or by pass it in order to get it to work properly? sorry you guys i am not too familiar with 6.0 systems thanks for your help!
