Question What Scan tool?

Just wondering what you all suggest for a Scan tool. I know there are alot of aftermarket devices out there, but which ones truly work?

Re: What Scan tool?

I know this topic has been reworked several times... however there has got to be another alternative, the AE with Ford Bundle is $360. The other option is the Scan Gauge II and it will read and clear codes for the powerstroke for about $160.... Now is there any other scanner that someone has used and pulled codes from their truck with? Anything that is cheaper than $160??? I have seen several scanners that say they are OBDII compliant and CAN compliant, if they are both does it necessary mean that they will work?

The cheap ones are nothing more than code readers. The autoenginuity is a scanner, code reader, diagnostic tool, etc. It is by far the best bang for the buck.

Re: What Scan tool?

I just purchased it and let me tell you that is a very nice piece of equipment to have. It is great the only code reader, diagnostic tool to have.

Re: What Scan tool?

Diablo Predator tuners have the biggest code file loaded of all tuners/code readers. Get one and use it only as a reader.

You see, in this world there's two kinds of people my friend....those with loaded guns, and those who dig.

You dig.
