loud air sucking sound and loss of power

lately ive been noticing my coolant level keeps dropping, and i keep having to add coolant. Ill fill up the degas bottle, then about a week later it will be bone dry. the truck is egr deleted and studded, so im not sure what the problem could be. any ideas? next issue. a couple weeks back i was at a stoplight, and when i took off i layed on it real hard and usually it'll light up the tires and have plenty of power, but i noticed a loud air sucking sound, and an extreme loss of power. I checked it out and noticed an intercooler tube rubber boot was cracked, so i replaced it and it seemed to fix it. I did another hard take off today and noticed the air sucking and loss of power once again, but all the boots are tightened down, and nothing looks to be out of place. Im stumped. Any help would be real appreciated!

First thing I'd recommend is figuring out where your coolant is going. Is it leaking or is it being burned?

Second thing I'd recommend is not to run your truck hard until you have the issues fixed, starting with your coolant loss. How long ago were the head studs installed?

The sucking sound may be a cracked intercooler.

Re: loud air sucking sound and loss of power

Im really not positive on the coolant part. a few weeks back it was smoking what looked like blueish white smoke on take offs, so i figured it was a bad turbo seal. I tore the turbo apart and sure enough it was leaking real bad so i replaced all the seals and put it back on the truck, and it definately lowered the amount of smoke on take offs, but did not fix the problem, so im starting to think it could possibly be coolant being burnt out as well? I studded it about 6 months ago, and i used the factory ford head gaskets, and had the heads machined as well, so i dont think it could be a blown headgasket, i would figure it would be smoking much more if that was the case.

Dont know what your problem will be, however our 2009 6.4l also got heads studded 2 months ago, and then not long after it had the same issues, when pull out to pass it was a white cloud for about a mile. The motor gave out 2 weeks ago and truck is still sitting on trailer. STAY close to home. It will not last long. We believe our motor is gone, maybe you can still fix yours.

blueish smoke is oil burning. if you are loosing coolant and have blueish smoke, i would pull the dipstick and see if you are mixing coolant and oil. if you are mixing....... i would say its n oil cooler. as for the loss of power, im not sure at this point. keep us posted on this man, thanks
