6.0 p2099 code

Will this low boost code cause the truck have hard starts? When I'm at a complete stop my edge is showing 1 lb of boost . Hoping someone can tell me what it might be before I pull the turbo.

Re: 6.0 p2099 code

Pulled it looks pretty damn clean. No heavy build up and the unison ring is perfect . Gonna clean her up and check the boot tomorrow. Wtf was ford thinking putting that bolt way in the back?????

Re: 6.0 p2099 code

Usually that P0299 code means the unison ring and veins need cleaned. I think that vertical back bolt on your 07 is easier to get out than the 03-04's which are horizontal.

Re: 6.0 p2099 code

Sticking turbo may be the most common cause of the code, but P0299 is a code that can come from anything from turbo, ebp sensor or plugged tube, icp issues, high pressure oil issue, low side oil volume issue, ficm concerns (especially low voltage), failing injectors, low battery voltage or alternator issue, fuel pressure, egr valve, damaged MAP sensor or hose, etc. To know for sure will require more troubleshooting.

Re: 6.0 p2099 code

Got it back in!
Works perfect... 24 lbs of boost (factory) no tunes?
Replaced the hot side boot ....88.00 bucks.
That's probably all it was to begin with but, the turbo's cleaned.
Thanks to the guys that did respond.
It was easier than I thought it would be.
