6.0 coolant leak

hello my 2006 powerstroke has just began to leak coolant, it appears its leaking externally from the driver side cylinder head at the rear of the engine. i was wondering if any one has seen this problem? also the botton of the lifter valley is wet also and it appears to be coolant. could it be leaking from my egr delete and running down my lifter valley and then running down the back of my cylinder head? the truck doesnt blow any white smoke on start up or any other time. any suggestions where to start first would be greatly appericated.

thanks,
Jonior

That "whistle" doesn't sound good, that usually means the cap on the degas bottle is blowing off pressure. I think I would T a pressure gauge in that 3/8's hose that goes to the radaitor from the degas bottle so you can see whats going on with cooling system pressure.

Re: 6.0 coolant leak

i just ran the truck with the pressure guage hooked up and ran the snot out of it and i only hit 3.5psi on my guage. the truck has only leaked coolant once and it was only a puddle about the size of a half dollar on the ground. im wondering if the hose on my egr delete might be leaking and running down the lifter valley and dripping down my cylinder head?

Re: 6.0 coolant leak

just cleaned the coolant off the engine and let the truck sit for a day and the coolant appears to be leaking from the head gasket
